Julia Stavianis
My name is Julie
(*1999) is a painter with irreplaceable elemental energy. In her paintings, one can read the traces of her thoughts, which she transfers onto the canvas with her own hands, and from which one can feel an oversaturation of both internal and external sensations. Julie's paintings depict a subconscious full of storms, often captured through human torsos and portraits. Dark and deep expanses record the overwhelming flow of thoughts, which collide with the constant stimuli of the surroundings without any possibility of filtration. Her work is also strongly inspired by the music scene, particularly punk. In her latest work, Julie also plays with a more minimalist expression of the scene and greater symbolism.
